Thanks

My husband's favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. Mine is Christmas. The reason he gives Thanksgiving as his favorite holiday is because he enjoys concentrating on being thankful and giving thanks on that day while surrounded by good food, family, and friends. Sometimes I feel that I don't spend enough time dwelling on what I have to be thankful for.

I'd like to send a thank-you out today to Beth at An Instrument for His Glory. Her post for Saturday Steps of Faith is exactly what I needed. You see, I am believing God for everything right now. I am believing Him for food, gas, money to buy needed items, do laundry and pay necessary bills, a place to live where my family can be together in somewhat convenient quarters (ie. my husband and I in one bed, my children in their own bed(s)), for fellowship and friendships in a new area, and most of all for peace and comfort.

I am thankful that God will never leave me nor forsake me. I am thankful that He promised to provide for me and that He has plans for my good and not to harm me. I am thankful that His grace is sufficient, His mercies are new every morning, and that someday I will see the dreams He has given me come to pass. I hold fast to His promises and remind myself that these discomforts and inconveniences in the natural will contribute to a powerful testimony that will have eternal consequences. I am thankful that He saves my tears and someday He will wipe away every tear. I am thankful that He sent His Holy Spirit to comfort me and everyone who needs comfort. I am thankful that He will never allow me to suffer in vain but will work those sufferings into character and maturity that will someday minister to someone else going through the same situation.

What are you thankful for today?

  1. I pray that God will supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Phil 4:19 I also am glad that God will never leave me nor forsake me, and that He cares for me. And thank God for His powerful Word.

  4. I am thankful for every minute of my life -- for all the ups and all the downs, all the good and all the bad, all the accomplishments and all the failures, all the comfort and all the fear because without the negative sides the positive sides would be less meaningful.
